Molly's Experience
|
 |
Molly had a physical problem that made intensive medical care necessary during her first childbirth. That resulted in having the birth unnecessarily pushed with pitocin, which then resulted in a numbing epidural block. As a result she regretted not having a birth experience. There was no physical pain but there was some lingering psychological pain.
For her second pregnancy, four years later, she was determined to eliminate medical interventions as much as possible. She had learned meditation as a child, and when her mother recommended the CALM BIRTH methods early in the pregnancy, Molly eagerly applied them and was able to have an exceptional birth.
EXCERPTS FROM POSTNATAL INTERVIEW WITH MOLLY
Molly: Womb Breathing was a big part. I noticed that since I learned how to breathe more deeply, I instantly felt better.
Molly: The rhythm in movement with the Calm Birth methods helped me relax and synchronize with the baby before birth. It helped me reduce anxiety and hold focus
If youre really doing Womb Breathing it helps you relax, helping everything open and release
The Calm Birth methods helped the process move forward more easily.
Molly: Womb Breathing helped me work with the process instead of fighting it. This helped me a lot. I think it would have gone on longer if I didnt do Womb Breathing. Hes a mellow baby. . . I think thats a benefit from Calm Birth.
Molly: Calm Birth was helpful for me and I think it was helpful for Cooper also. It was something that I could do that was noninvasive and empowering.
Molly: I brought the audio guide and audio player with me to the hospital, and during the first few hours I wore the headphones playing the audio cassette until things became intense. Then I sat in the rocking chair doing the breathing on my own.
Molly: I know that for me there will be long-term benefits, and I can assume that for Cooper there will be too. Well see how he develops. I feel I have the Calm Birth methods Ill use forever.
